Thriving Communities

Co-creating positive change for sustainable livelihoods.

Our communities are the foundation of our business and we are committed to building long-term, trusted connections with our growers, communities, and employees. We intend to create sustainable livelihoods and maintain them through the competitiveness, resilience, and long-term development of these communities.

Partnerships for community development

  • Being a socially responsible company, we care for the communities we work in. We have piloted two projects in two districts of Gujarat-Mehsana and Sabarkatha.
  • In 2017 we initiated Project Shakti in district Mehsana, to empower women through livelihoods and knowledge transfer in 1 village and build conversations around gender diversity. By
    F23, 73 Self-Help Groups reached nearly 1200 rural
women in 20 villages, providing support on savings and income generation activities.
  • Project Utthan, piloted in 2019, aims to generate income for small and marginal farmers in
    District Sabarkatha via improved agriculture
methods and livestock management. This project
in F23 covers 10 villages and impacts the livelihoods of more than 1000 small and marginal farmers.
  • We thank our partners Cohesion Foundation Trust, BAIF Development and Research Foundation, Robinhood Army and Aasmaan Foundation for their support.
  • We actively participate in disaster relief operations to help our country in times of need. McCain India contributes to national and state funds for natural disasters. Our employees also contribute to such operations through financial and physical contributions.

Supporting farmers and families by donating meals and employee volunteering

  • McCain Chips-In is a global project. In India, we donated 150,000 meals in F23 and recorded more than 1100 hours of employee volunteering.
  • We launched Employees Volunteering Day Off (VDO) in F21 wherein McCain employees can take one day off to volunteer in a charity of their choice.
  • McCain employees volunteer to fund the education of financially backward students in our
    project villages.
